1. Overview
On The Brink(the “Game”) is a hyper-casual arcade game developed and operated by Thanh Vu(the “Developer”, “we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you play the Game, how we use it, and the choices you have. By installing or playing the Game you agree to the practices described below.
2. Data We Collect
You can play and make in-app purchases without signing in.
Signing in with Apple or Google is entirely optional and is offered only so your purchases and progress can be synced across the devices you own. You may sign in at any time later from the in-game Settings or Shop screen, and you may sign out or delete your account at any time.
We collect the following categories of data:
- Platform player ID. On iOS, Apple Game Center provides a stable, anonymous player ID once you have signed in to Game Center on the system level. On Android, Google Play Games provides the equivalent. This ID is used to associate your progress and purchases with your device. We never see your Apple or Google password.
- Optional account identifiers (Sign in with Apple / Google).Only if you choose to sign in for cross-device sync, we additionally receive a unique account identifier from the provider and — if you authorise it during the sign-in prompt — your display name and email address (you may hide your email via Apple's “Hide My Email”). You can revoke this at any time by deleting your account from the in-game Settings.
- Gameplay data. Scores, achievements, group memberships, challenge history, match results, and the in-game items you own (skins, eggs balance).
- Device & diagnostic data. Device model, OS version, language, country, app version, crash reports, performance metrics, and anonymous analytics events (game start, game end, achievement unlocked, etc.).
- Purchase data. A receipt token from the App Store or Google Play confirming that an in-app purchase completed, plus the product ID and timestamp. We do not receive your credit card number.
- Advertising identifiers. If you grant permission, our ad partners may receive your IDFA (iOS) or Advertising ID (Android) to show personalised ads. You can decline this at any time in your device settings.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To run the Game (save your progress, sync scores, deliver in-app purchases, run matches and tournaments).
- To rank players on global, monthly, group and tournament leaderboards.
- To deliver push notifications for challenges, group battles and tournaments you have opted into.
- To diagnose crashes, improve performance and roll out new features.
- To prevent fraud, cheating and abuse.
- To show ads (banner, interstitial and rewarded) and measure their performance.
- To comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party providers. Each has its own privacy policy that applies to the data they receive:
- Apple Game Center — authentication, player IDs, and platform leaderboards on iOS. Apple Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Games — authentication, player IDs, and platform leaderboards on Android. Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config, Crashlytics) — backend, analytics, push notifications and crash reporting. Firebase Authentication is used only when you opt in to Sign in with Apple or Google for cross-device sync; it is never required to play or purchase. Firebase Privacy.
- Sign in with Apple (iOS, optional) — if you choose to sign in for cross-device sync, Apple provides a stable account identifier and, with your authorisation, your name and email. You may also use Apple's “Hide My Email” relay. Apple Privacy Policy.
- Google Sign-In (optional) — if you choose to sign in for cross-device sync, Google provides your account identifier and, with your authorisation, your name, email and profile picture. Google Privacy Policy.
- Supabase — aggregated leaderboard, tournament and inventory storage. Supabase Privacy.
- Google AdMob — banner, interstitial and rewarded video advertising. AdMob may use the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to collect GDPR / CCPA consent where required. Google Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store & Google Play Billing— processing in-app purchases.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data with these providers only to the extent needed to run the Game.
5. Eggs, Prizes & In-App Purchases
Eggs are a virtual in-game item only.
- Eggs have no monetary value outside the Game.
- Eggs cannot be exchanged, redeemed, withdrawn or cashed out for real money, cryptocurrency, goods, or services of monetary value.
- Prizes awarded in challenges, group battles, arenas or tournaments are paid only in eggs or other virtual in-game items — never in real currency.
- Unused eggs and items are non-refundable except as required by the App Store or Google Play under their respective consumer-protection policies.
You may purchase eggs and other virtual items through the App Store or Google Play. All purchases are billed by Apple or Google — we receive only the receipt token confirming the purchase. To request a refund, contact Apple or Google directly through their standard refund process.
No registration is required to purchase. In line with Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v), we never require you to register or share personal information to purchase eggs or any other in-app product. Signing in with Apple or Google is optional and only enables your purchases to be synced across the devices you own. You may sign in at any time later from the in-game Settings or Shop.
6. Skill-Based PvP Competitions
The Game offers competitive modes (1v1 Challenges, the Arena, Group Battles, and Tournaments) where players may contribute eggs to a shared prize pool. The outcome of every match is determined by player skill(timing of taps to land on platforms) — not by chance, dice, cards, or random number generators.
Because eggs are virtual items with no real-world value (see Section 5) and outcomes are skill-based, these modes are not gambling and do not constitute real-money gaming. If you live in a jurisdiction that restricts skill-based contests with virtual currency, you are responsible for ensuring your participation complies with local law. We may limit availability of certain modes in certain countries.
7. Advertising & Tracking
We use Google AdMob to display banner, interstitial and rewarded ads. We show two types of ads depending on your consent and region:
- Personalised ads— tailored to your interests based on your advertising identifier and app activity.
- Non-personalised ads— generic ads not based on your personal data; shown when you decline tracking or where required by law.
Consent and opt-out:
- On iOS, we ask you through the App Tracking Transparency prompt before any third-party tracking. If you decline, ads will be non-personalised.
- In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, we use Google's UMP consent flow to honour the GDPR. You may update your consent at any time from the in-game Settings screen.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at the system level: iOS → Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android→ Settings → Privacy → Ads.
8. International Data Transfers
On The Brink is operated from Vietnam. The third-party providers we use (Apple, Google, Firebase, Supabase, AdMob) host data on servers around the world, which means your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own — including the United States and other jurisdictions outside the European Economic Area.
Where required by law, our providers rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework to protect international transfers. By using the Game you acknowledge and agree to this cross-border processing.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Game is rated 12+ on the App Store and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at tech@app-nob.com and we will delete it.
10. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or update inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and associated data. You can do this directly inside the Game: Settings → Advanced → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Object to or restrict certain processing (e.g. personalised ads).
- Receive a portable copy of your data.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

EEA / UK / Switzerland (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for personalised advertising and any optional tracking. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
- Legitimate interests — for analytics, crash reporting, fraud prevention, and improving the Game.
- Performance of a contract — to provide core game services such as scores, matches, group battles, and in-app purchases.
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.
California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to:
- Know what categories of personal information we collect and how we use them.
- Request access to or deletion of your personal information.
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not sell your personal information for money.When you consent to personalised advertising, certain advertising identifiers may be shared with AdMob in ways that California law treats as “sharing”; you can opt out at any time through the in-app consent settings or your device's Limit Ad Tracking / Reset Advertising ID controls.
11. Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account from Settings → Advanced → Delete account, your profile, scores, achievements, inventory (including any remaining eggs and unlocked skins), group memberships and match history are permanently and immediately erased. This action cannot be undone and your data cannot be recovered, even if you sign in again with the same Apple or Google account.
Some data is retained by third parties under their own retention policies, which we cannot shorten:
- Firebase Analyticsdata is kept by Google for the period configured in our project (typically 14–26 months) before automatic deletion.
- AdMob advertisingdata follows Google's standard retention.
- Purchase receipts required by Apple or Google for refund handling, and records we are legally required to keep for tax or accounting purposes, are retained for the period mandated by applicable law.
- Anonymous, aggregated analytics eventsthat contain no personally identifying information may remain in our analytics provider's systems indefinitely.
12. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS in transit, access controls, server-authoritative transaction processing for purchases and prize settlements) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data we will notify you as required by applicable law.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, surface a notice inside the Game or send a push notification where appropriate.
